Worship, Community, Fellowship & Faith
1) We believe in the Bible. The Old Testament (39 books) and The New Testament (27 books) is the inspired and infallible Word of God, and it is the standard for doctrine (what we believe) and conduct (how we live). [2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21]
2) We believe in the Holy Trinity. He is the One True God Who exists eternally in Three Persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit – equal in deity, power and glory. We further believe that God is the Creator and the Sovereign Ruler over all creation. [Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1; John 15:26; Colossians 1:16, 17]
3) We believe in Jesus Christ. He is fully God and fully human. He is the only begotten of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. We believe that He was crucified, He died and was buried, and raised from the dead, that He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
[Colossians 1:15; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:3; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:1-3; Hebrews 7:25]
4) We believe in the Holy Spirit. He is actively at work in the world to convict of sin and in the church to indwell, sanctify and empower believers to be witnesses and disciple-makers, with signs and wonders following.
[John 16:8-12; Acts 1:8; Romans 15:16]
5) We believe in the Gospel. It is the central message of the church because it is the good news of God’s salvation for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ.
[Romans 1:16, 17; Matthew 24:14; 1 Corinthians 15:1-3]
6) We believe God loves all mankind. Every person was created in God’s image and likeness, yet everyone has sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and is in need of salvation. [Genesis 1:26, 27; John 3:16, 17; Romans 3:10-23]
7) We believe in salvation by grace through faith. Sinners are unable to save themselves and must repent of their sin and trust in Jesus as Savior. Forgiveness of sins and justification is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
[Ephesians 2:5-8; Romans 3:24-26; Romans 6:23]
8) We believe that God calls us to holy and victorious living for the glory of God. The saving grace of God enables us to live godly lives and empowers us to be overcomers in the world. [Ephesians 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Titus 2:11-12; Romans 8:37; 1 John 5:4-5; 1 Corinthians 10:31]
9) We believe in the Church, the Body of Christ. It is comprised of all Christ-followers throughout the ages and is the present representation and instrument of the Kingdom of God on earth. [1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:11-13; Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:9]
10) We believe in Water Baptism and Holy Communion. These ordinances were instituted by Christ and are to be observed until His return. Water Baptism is the public profession of our repentance and faith, while Holy Communion is the public display of our unity with Christ and with one another. [Matthew 28:19; Acts 16:15, 33; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Luke 22:19, 20]
11) We believe in the Second Coming of Christ. He will return and reign as King and the Kingdom of God will be fully realized. He will bring about the ultimate defeat of Satan. [1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11-16]
12) We believe in the final judgment. At the end of the age, God will judge humanity. Those who belong to Christ will be bodily resurrected to share God’s eternal glory, while everyone else will be resurrected to an eternity of suffering and separation from God. [Revelation 20:11-15; Romans 2:1-5; Matthew 12:36-37; Matthew 10:28; 2 Timothy 4:8]
13) We believe in the New Heaven and the New Earth. God will remove all the evil that came with sin and will restore the creation to a state of righteousness, peace, joy and glory. [Isaiah 65:17-18; Revelation 21:1-8; 2 Peter 3:7; Romans 8:19-20, 22-24; Colossians 1:20]
